Titanium is a heavy trace metal that is found in the blood in small amount. Titanium is not harmful to the body in small amount, however, can be poisonous in larger amount. Many products have titanium such as paints, cosmetics, prosthetic implants and artificial joints. Over time, some of these products many break down and increase the levels of titanium in the body. This test measures the amount of titanium in the blood if there is concern regarding exposure.
