This test is typically ordered when one is experiencing symptoms of allergic reaction soon after taking the medication. This test measures the blood for IgE antibodies in response to taking Penicillin V.

Penicillin is a type of antibiotic that is used in the treatment of a wide range of infections. It is one of the most commonly prescribed antibiotics. There are different types of penicillins. This test measures the blood for IgE antibodies in response to taking Penicillin V. An allergic reaction can occur within one hour of taking the medication but can be longer. This test is typically ordered when one is experiencing symptoms of allergic reaction soon after taking the medication.

This test is performed in following conditions such as:

• Skin rash
• Hives
• Itching
• Fever
• Shortness of breath
• Runny nose
• Itchy or watery eyes
• Tightening of the throat and airways
• Drop in blood pressure
• Dizziness
• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
