Quest Diagnostics Test Code: 92170

This test measures a quantitative amount of the antibodies to MMR viruses in order to determine whether the host has indeed achieved immunity, or if booster vaccinations are required.

Measles, mumps and rubella are all viruses that cause infection in children, but can also cause infection in adults. These infections are often not severe, but in some cases, can progress to potentially-life threatening illness. As a result, a combination vaccine containing these three viruses is part of the standard vaccination schedule in most countries. This test measures a quantitative amount of the antibodies to each three of these viruses in order to determine whether the host has indeed achieved immunity, or if booster vaccinations are required.

This test is performed in following conditions such as:

• Mild fever
• Body rash
• Runny or stuffy nose
• Red or inflamed eyes
• Aching joints
• Swollen lymph nodes
