Lead, Urine (24-hour)
$109
This test measures Lead levels in a 24-hour urine sample. Lead exposure can occur in industrial settings or through products containing lead such as paint, ceramics, or plastics. Other common sources of lead exposure include lead paint in homes, inhalation of car exhaust and exposure at firing ranges. Common symptoms of lead poisoning include nausea, unexplained weight loss, fatigue, anemia, headache, stomach pain, and nerve damage.
Urine lead testing can help to determine the amount of lead exposure a person has had. It may also be done before and after treatment for lead poisoning to see how much lead a person is excreting from their body. While a 24-hour urine test can be more informative, a Random Urine Lead Test is also available which requires only a single collection. Lead blood testing is still considered the preferred method of screening for lead exposure. Urine lead testing is typically used as a follow-up to blood testing or to monitor response to treatment. Customers interested in urine testing for other materials as well as lead may order a Heavy Metals Profile I or Heavy Metals Panel II.
Turnaround for this 24 Hour Lead Urine test is typically 2-8 business days.
