This food allergy test is used to identify allergy to different food items like nuts, wheat, dairy, etc.

A food allergy test is a group of blood tests that are performed in order to determine whether someone is allergic to any of the foods that commonly cause allergic reactions, like nuts and shellfish. This is a blood test that measures the amount of IgE in the body to specific antigens in order to diagnose a food allergy. This is a much more accurate test than a skin prick test, since it does not require multiple needle scratches and is not affected by the patient being on antihistamines or steroids. This test is typically performed on someone who has had symptoms of an allergic reaction.
