This test measures levels of Calcitonin in the blood. Calcitonin is a hormone produced by the Thyroid Gland. Calcitonin production helps regulate the body's levels of calcium and phosphate. In most cases, having a deficiency or overload of calcitonin does not cause any negative health effects.
This test measures levels of T3 or Triiodothyronine in the blood. T3 is one of the primary hormones produced by the Thyroid gland which helps to control a number of metabolic functions. Most T3 is bound to proteins and the small portion of unbound T3 or Free T3 is biologically active and able to be used by the body.
The Free T4 Dialysis test is typically ordered when someone has symptoms of a thyroid disorder but has other conditions which may render standard testing methods ineffective. A Dialysis test may be used as a follow up to a regular Free T4 blood test when a person has thyroid disorder symptoms but their test results are normal.
A potassium rbc blood test is more accurate than a standard blood potassium test, and will show a potassium deficiency much earlier. This test is useful in the diagnosis of kidney disease, adrenal cortical insufficiency and problems with the heartbeat.
Also Known As: K
Total T3 measurements are used to diagnose and monitor treatment of hyperthyroidism and are essential for recognizing T3 toxicosis.
Also Known As: T3 Total, Triiodothyronine (T3)
This test is used to diagnose hyperthyroidism and to clarify thyroid status in the presence of a possible protein binding abnormality.
Also Known As: Free T3, Triiodothyronine
The reverse T3 test is to diagnose euthyroid sick syndrome, when there is a derangement in the T3, T4 and TSH values, but not enough clinical evidence of specifically thyroid signs and symptoms.
Also Known As: Triiodothyronine (T3) Reverse
